My
younger son, Nathan, wanted a "little dog".
And, so it all began...
I
have been involved in breeding, showing, training
and competing with Collies for over 30 years.
My involvement included breed, obedience and tracking,
putting it all together in my foundation sire,
Amer/Can
Ch&OTCh Shoreham Dubious Delight TD, Can CD.
When
my son was 7 years old, he started begging for
a little dog. For the next 3 years, as I attended
shows, I researched various breeds. When I came
to the Border Terrier, I felt I had found the
perfect dog. Soon after, Ch
Freilance Wacky Wicket ME CG joined our family
as a 9 week old puppy, and quickly won our hearts.
Wicket's
breeder calls them the Border "Almost" Terrier.
After a lifetime with only larger dogs, I call
them the "tuck under the arm and go"
dogs. They are gutsy little dogs that can jog
4 miles with me, romp with the Collies, keep the
cats in line, and snuggle under the covers without
taking up the whole bed! Perfect!
At
Wicklin Border Terriers, the whole dog is considered
important. Sound structure, expression and temperament
are equally important. A healthy, enjoyable companion
is just as important as a show and/or performance
dog.
