Question of the Month? ![]() Why does red wine give me a headache? The evidence that links red wine and headaches are the phenolics found in all wine. However the phenolics are greater in red wine. Histamines are another culprit in red wines that can cause headaches. If you do not want to give up your glass of red wine but the histamines bother you try a lighter red wine. It is through skin contact during maceration that increases or decreases the amount of histamines. Wine Question?
