Welcome to the web pages maintained by me that are devoted to The Tale of Genji (Genji monogatari). These began in 2004 with a 12-lecture series given at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, sponsored by the Society for Asian Art. They are being energetically reworked in 2008-09 as part of a second round of 12 lectures under the same sponsorship, being given between Oct 2008 and March 2009.
