Dr. Murray is the author of The CARE Book and teaches interpersonal communication to groups and companies. The California State Senate honored his contributions to the field of self-esteem when they presented him with The VASCO Award. It’s a long way from here to there... The journey to success hasn't always been easy for this Texas native. In fact it's been a long road from J.D. (juvenile delinquent) to Ph.D. Still, it's an appealing trip when you've almost been killed in a gang fight, dropped out of high school, turned down an offer to go to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, flunked out of a naval training school, and ended up scrubbing the head. The decision to make that trip moved Jerome Murray from a 18-year-old, taking stock of himself on a navy bunk, to the Honor Man of another naval training school. He then went on to a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (Summa cum Laude) from Santa Clara University, and ultimately Valedictorian of his doctoral class earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. For fifteen years he headed a mental health clinic in California.
