Seven Deadly Zins

Cline Cellars Zinfandel

Zinsylvania, CA--Frederic T. Cline, President of the Zinsylvanian Republic and chief of the Cline government, announced today the release of four deadly new Zinfandels from the 1995 vinatge. Gluttons the world over have long flocked to the pearly gates of Cline for a taste of the drop jaw Zins that this saintly producer has consistently turned out.

According to Archangel Matt Cline, the 1995's will alight on gilded wings and fly forth from their nirvana at a stunning rate. In fact, the master blender and Director of Heavenly Beverages laments this stunning exodus. "We actually produced Seven Deadly Zins in 1995," says Cline, "Alas! I have succumbed to the temptations of gluttony and have consumed three myself."

In addition to the traditional Big Break and Bridgehead vineyard-designated Zinfandels, Matt and Fred will release a pair of new bottlings--the Live Oak vineyard-designated Zin and the soon-to-be classic Ancient Vines Zinfandel.

The 1995 Live Oak Zinfandel comes from a small block of century old, head-pruned vines adjacent to Live Oak Road in Oakley, CA. Year in and out this heavenly parcel has produced a blindingly concentrated wine crammed with dark, wild berry flavors and aromas...so much that the Cline government will offer it in 1995 as a single vineyard bottling.

The 1995 Ancient Vines Zinfandel will replace the orginial Contra Costa label. Only the very finest, handselected lots from the Clines' oldest and shyest yielding vines have been blended together, resulting in a sumptuous nectar of black fruit, smoke and peppery spice.

These wines will invariably sell out quickly. Archangel Matt Cline points out that Sloth is, in fact, the deadliest of the Seven Sins: Do not hesitate to purchase all that your heavenly coffers can hold.

Meanwhile, the Clines, with President Fred Cline proudly seated in the gilded throne, have moved to have Gluttony erased from their list of sins. In the most perfect of all worlds, one does not suffer from sloth at the heels of an extended bout of gluttony.
