Concerned About Wool Allergies? Allergies to our wool are extremely rare. In my experience with natural fibers, wool batting is the most widely compatible natural fiber for people in general, even compared to organic cotton batting. It seems that most allergic reactions to wool are actually reactions to either the bleaching process that is prevalent in many of the more processed wool products on the market, or one of several chemical treatments that are usually standard in many woolen products. Our wool batting is not processed in any damaging ways. After the wool is sheared from the living sheep’s back, it is washed without the use of any harsh soaps and then it is carded (or combed) into beautiful, soft, clean wool batting. There is no scratchiness at all. It has also been discovered that wool types vary in their PH levels. The more alkaline wool types are not itchy, while the more acidic wool types tend to cause itchiness. Our wool has a balanced PH level. This has been substantiated by independent testing. If you have allergy concerns, we offer a sensitivity packet free of charge with instructions for how to test for sensitivities. Click here for for details and to order. For your own assurance, we recommend that you begin by trying out the sleep pillow or neck roll. Good Wool (and Health) to all, Eliana
