Wool Supplier in Canada

Our wool supplier in Canada, a multi-faceted company called Custom Woolen Mills in Carstairs, Alberta, pressed a dead mill back into service. It is a full processing plant. They wash, dye, card, spin, sew and knit. They call themselves a working museum.

Their carding machines date back to 1868 to 1910. Their spinning mule dates back to 1910 and is the only operational one in Canada. They have however replaced some of their museum pieces as they upgrade equipment in order to maintain and improve production quality. The small family owned company is committed to producing the purest wool batts possible. To that end they only buy raw wool that doesn't include bum and belly wool.
