Envira
Fuels Biodiesel Users Group
Membership into the Envira Fuels Biodiesel Users
Group allows our customers to purchase Biodiesel, as per California
State regulations. To purchase Biodiesel, all customers in the state
are, at present, required to become members of a User Group Co-op.
Becoming a member of Envira Fuels Biodiesel Users Group is FREE
OF CHARGE!
Benefits:
Besides gaining the ability to purchase fuel, your
membership comes with other benefits as well:
1)
All our customers are encouraged to call anytime in regards to questions
they have about their Biodiesel usage experience. Members will be
provided with feedback forms, on-line access to FAQs and on-line
support forms.
2) As a member, when you buy a diesel vehicle from one of
our participating auto dealers, Envira Fuels, LLC will provide you
with a full tank of Biodiesel free (a limit of 25 gals per vehicle).
This offer is also extended to non co-op members, who, when purchasing
a diesel vehicle, also sign up as members of the co-op at time of
their vehicle purchase. (NOTE: This benefit
is still in the planning stage. Notification of activation will
be sent to all members and placed on the web site.)
3)
On-line bill paying and credit card acceptance:
Members can pay their bills, check their statements, make account
purchases, and use their credit cards to make payments on-line.
(NOTE: This benefit is still in the planning
stage. Notification of activation will be sent to all members
and placed on the web site.)
4) Consumer Notification:
Members will be provided with educational materials, including
our Biodiesel Handling and Use Guidelines based on the NREL Handling
and Use Guideline manual as part of your Biodiesel user package.
The packages we have developed will be tailored to the type and
nature of the user and includes, but is not limited to, educational
materiel on Biodiesel, fuel specifics, ASTM standards for Biodiesel,
our Biodiesel Handling and Use Guidelines, information on usage,
warranties, government incentives, vehicle care and maintenance,
and FAQs. When applicable, we may include a workbook to assist
in fleet conversion and retrofitting for Biodiesel usage. All
members of the co-op will also receive in writing a warning of
any potential risk associated with the use of the developmental
fuel.
5) Damage Liability:
As required by law, our suppliers are liable for any damage due
to their fuel. They carry their own indemnification policies for
the sale, delivery, storage, handling and use of their fuel. All
contractual provisions pertaining to liability are laid out in
our co-op application/contract and are agreed upon by Envira Fuels,
LLC and all co-op members upon their signing of said contract.
6) In cooperation with other User Groups, Envira Fuels,
LLC will accept membership cards from other qualified Biodiesel
user groups or co-ops. They in-turn will accept membership cards
from our members. To see a list of participating co-ops, see our
Co-op Participant
page.
7) All members will have access to the Member's Forum,
an on-line forum for members only. This is a monitored on-line
group.
Responsibilities
of Membership:
On August 19, 2004, the Division of Measurement Standards (part of
the California Department of Food and Agriculture) prohibited companies
from selling Biodiesel blends greater than B20 (20% Biodiesel), as
well as B100 (100% Biodiesel), to the public without first obtaining
a variance (waiver). Envira Fuels, LLC received a variance in May
2005. As a requirement for obtaining a variance, we must collect data
and report it to the state on a quarterly basis. The only data that
will be reported is the quantitative data. No personal information
will be reported. Upon signing the membership agreement, in which
an acknowledgment of the variance issue is disclosed, customers will
receive a "user" card. To purchase fuel, all members must show this
card. At Card-Loc pumps, simply insert your card before using your
credit/debit card at the pump.
1)
All new members are provided with an information packet on the use
of Biodiesel and must indicate their understanding and acceptance
prior to joining the co-op or receiving any fuel.
2) It is the memberís responsibility to provide the fuel
vendors with any requested information regarding the performance
of biodiesel or any issues that the member observes while using
the fuel. This information is critical to allow the fuel vendor
to complete the required quarterly reports to the CA Department
of Measurement Standards. To help our members achieve this week
have developed a Quarterly
Reporting Form that can be filled out on-line or printed and
mailed to Envira Fuels, LLC.
