Session 38—Midterm 02

Topics for this session

Midterm 02

Details

This test cannot look like Midterm 01 because we have fewer poets and will not do anything like match love poems to love books. Instead it will be multiple choice and short answer (from a phrase to a few sentences/one paragraph in length) No essay questions. It will focus entirely on information; it will not have interpretation of poems as a component. If I select poems at all, it might be "match this poem to this poet" with poems not before seen but very typical, even stereotypical, of that poem. That could be fun ...

There is a lot of material in the bio PDFs if you began to worry about details. Please don't. Get only the very basic facts (top main five data points or so) and consider the "feel" of the life of the individual. I selected readings that focus on that. "Feel" means various things: how that person is considered in terms of his reputation, what was important in terms of style & theme, the spiritual / emotional qualities of that individuals life, or phases of that life.
