Zoomersmagazine.com is dedicated to serving, entertaining, enhancing and interacting with the baby boomer generation (individuals born from 1946 to 1964). Of course, the content is cross-generational and germane to any individual seeking a more creative, vibrant lifestyle. Boomers represent an affluent population explosion in the 50 plus range, a very attractive demographic audience for advertisers.

Note: Artwork that does not conform to these specifications (off by as little as 1 pixel) can affect our site's performance and will not be posted. Creative content may not simulate zoomersmagazine.com Editorial content. All creative content is subject to Editorial approval.

    RICH MEDIA SPECIFICATIONS

    Image Maps
We only support client-side image maps. Map files and URLs will be managed by zoomersmagazine.com. There is no restriction on the number of image map links a banner may have.

    Third Party Serving
We can support third party serving of ad images. To ensure the ads work within our pages, these ads are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We require a copy of each ad to be served, and reserve the right to move the campaign to zoomersmagazine.com’s servers at any time if we encounter performance problems. Please note, however, that we do not currently accept rich media served via third party ad servers using the <IFRAME>/JavaScript method.

    Audio and Video Ads
We can support audio and video ads, provided they meet our banner specifications above, and the multimedia files are launched from a user click. Any plug-ins must degrade gracefully (i.e., serve alternate GIFs for older browsers). These ads are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. A button that allows users to stop the audio or video must be included within the creative.

    HTML/JavaScript
We can support HTML banners, including HTML with JavaScript. If you want to use an HTML ad containing a form, please use this template, which meets our specs.

    <TABLE WIDTH="468" HEIGHT="60" BORDER="0"><FORM METHOD="GET" ACTION="[your URL goes here]" TARGET="_top"><TR><TD> [your ad goes here, including any enclosing tables] </TD></TR></FORM></TABLE>

    Other requirements for HTML/JavaScript ads:
All elements of the ad must be hosted on zoomersmagazine.com’s servers, with the exception of CGI scripts, which must be tested and hosted on the destination site prior to sending the ad to Zoomersmagazine.com.

All graphics included in the ad should have full paths (e.g., http://www.xyz.com/top.gif)

If an HTML form is used, the <FORM> tag should include the following parameters: METHOD="GET" (All information passed to a remote site will be in "GET" format. Most CGI scripts can handle both GET and POST methods, but some cannot, so be sure your developer is aware of this spec.)

a valid ACTION tag TARGET="_top" <FORM> and </FORM> tags should live within <TABLE> and </TABLE> tags. An enclosing table should surround the entire ad.

    Java
We can support ads using Java. Some of the requirements are:
  • All materials must be hosted on Zoomersmagazine.com servers (.class, .jar, .html, .cab files, etc.). All exit points from the ad (i.e., clickthroughs) must be controllable via a <PARAM> tag so that Zoomersmagazine.com can properly track clickthroughs.
  • Total size of preloading code cannot exceed 15K.
  • CPU usage of each ad may not exceed 25% of total resources on a Pentium 200 PC with 32MB of RAM.
  • An alternate banner must be provided for Java-disabled browsers.

    DHTML
We can support ads using DHTML, but because of the inherent complexity of DHTML, these ads must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Some of the requirements are:
  • Appropriate sniffer code must be included so that the ad renders correctly on both Netscape and Internet Explorer.
  • The ad must gracefully degrade for browsers which do not support DHTML, and users with JavaScript turned off.
  • For DHTML ads that go out "outside the banner" (e.g., use additional screen space, move around the page, play a sound, or anything else outside the ad area), we must also obtain editorial approval.

At this time, DHTML ads cannot rotated -- they must remain fixed to a page.

    Unicast
Unicast technology is currently under evaluation; we do not accept it at this time.

    Shockwave/Flash
Shockwave and Flash technology remains under evaluation; we do not accept it at this time.

    Enliven
Narrative Communications' Enliven technology ads will be taken under consideration if suggested, under the provision that the CPU usage of each ad does not exceed 25% of total resources on a Pentium 200 PC with 32MB of RAM. Enliven ads are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

HOW TO GET INFORMATION TO US

E-mail artwork and traffic instructions to ads@zoomersmagazine.com. You can also post artwork and support information on the Web. Provide us with the URL and we will download materials from there.

    Online Advertising Reporting System

Within two business days of a campaign's start date, zoomersmagazine.com will provide the advertiser with a URL, user name and exclusive password. This password will allow the advertiser access to the zoomersmagazine.com online advertising activity reports, specific to that advertiser's campaign(s). Access is provided twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week for the duration of the advertiser's campaign plus 90 business days after termination of the campaign.

In the event an advertiser does not receive a password within two business days, they should contact zoomersmagazine.com using the following e-mail address: ads@zoomersmagazine.com.

    Impression Distribution

The zoomersmagazine.com advertising management system is designed to distribute impressions as evenly as possible between the start and end dates of every campaign. zoomersmagazine.com defines even distribution as the number of total contracted impressions, divided by the number of days in the campaign.

Given the dynamic nature of traffic both on the Internet and within any given site, zoomersmagazine.com is unable to make any representation as to the rate of distribution on any particular day to any individual advertiser. To this end, zoomersmagazine.com will only accept insertion orders from advertisers, or their agencies, which specify length of the contract, and the total impressions purchased for the length of that contract.

If you have questions or comments about zoomersmagazine.com's commitment to even distribution, please contact zoomersmagazine.com using the following e-mail address: ads@zoomersmagazine.com.

    General Terms and Conditions

    A. Acceptance of advertising programs subject to space availability upon receipt of signed contract or insertion order by zoomersmagazine.com.

    B. Online advertisements are accepted upon the representation that advertiser and its agency have the right to publish and display the contents thereof. In consideration of such online publication and display, advertiser and its agency agree to indemnify and hold online publisher harmless against any expense or loss by reason of any claims arising out of online publication and display.

    C. Positioning of advertisements is at the discretion of the publisher except where a request for a specific preferred position is acknowledged by publisher in writing. Material must be received by material closing date, otherwise position may be lost, or requested impression level may be reduced.

    D. Publisher may use prior ad material if new material is not received on time.

    E. Cancellation Policy: Any campaign can be cancelled with no penalty up to two weeks before the scheduled start date of the campaign. Campaigns cancelled less than two weeks before the scheduled start date of the campaign are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. After a campaign has started, cancellation notices are accepted with two weeks' notice. Advertisers will be rebilled for all impressions delivered through effective end date; if appropriate, shortrates will apply.

    F. Postponement Policy: In cases where ad material has not arrived by the fifth working day after the agreed-upon campaign start date, zoomersmagazine.com's postponement policy goes into effect. zoomersmagazine.com will reduce the number of total impressions for every day the campaign is late, based on even distribution, and the advertiser will be invoiced at the original contracted dollar amount.

    G. All contents of advertisements are subject to online publisher's approval. Online publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement, insertion order, space reservation or position commitment at any time.

    H. All insertion orders are accepted subject to provisions of the current rate card.

    I. Online publisher shall not be liable for any costs or damages if for any reason it fails to electronically publish and display an advertisement. In no event shall online publisher be liable for any damages, consequential or otherwise, in excess of the amount paid for the advertisement, as a result of any mistake in the advertisement, omission from or error in any index, or for any other reason.

    J. Online publisher shall have the right to hold advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to online publisher for advertising which advertiser or its agent ordered and which advertising was published and displayed.

    K. No conditions other than those set forth in the rate card shall be binding on the online publisher unless specifically agreed to in writing by the online publisher. Online publisher will not be bound by conditions printed or appearing on order blanks or copy instructions which conflict with the provisions of the rate card.

    L. Online publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or non-delivery in the event of an Act-of-God, action by any government or quasi-governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strikes whether legal or illegal, labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down or any condition beyond the control of the electronic publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.

    M. As used in this section entitled "General Terms and Conditions" the term online publisher shall refer to zoomersmagazine.com

    N. Payment in full is due within 30 days of the "live" date of advertiser's program.

    O. All discounts are multiplicative and not additive.

    P. Rates are subject to change upon notice from the publisher. "Publisher will not accept any catalogs as advertisements nor permit the use of the word "catalog" in any advertisements except by special written agreement with Publisher. Advertisers using the word "catalog" in their ads without Publisher's written consent will be held liable for the payment of any additional postage fees which may be imposed by the US Postal Service."
