Frenchy (AKA John French) has been a working river guide for over 18
years. During that time he has lead trips on every continent in the world.
He has rowed enough river miles to circle the globe.
Many years he slept
more nights on the ground than in a bed. He has watched the adventure
travel industry grow from the lunatic fringe to mainstream Madison Avenue.
Frenchy now lives in Juneau, Alaska, where he manages the operations of
Alaska Discovery (www.akdiscovery.com) most of the year. The rest of
the time he guides for Mountain Travel*Sobek (www.mtsobek.com)
internationally and for OARS in the Grand Canyon.
Writing and painting are his hobbies, because they both sharpen the powers of observation.
